GoDaddy Website Builder or a managed fleet website?
GoDaddy Website Builder is a quick, guided way to get a simple site online, convenient when your domain is already registered there. It suits a small operator who needs a basic presence. When your website has to rank for vehicle classes and depots, route enquiries into a CRM and stay accurate every week, a managed fleet site does that work for you.
GoDaddy Website Builder vs FleetWebStudio, line by line
Twelve things that decide how a website performs for a fleet or hire business. Where the answer on the other side depends on who builds it, the table says so rather than guessing.

| What matters | GoDaddy Website Builder | FleetWebStudio |
|---|---|---|
| Speed and Core Web Vitals | Managed by the platform; results vary with the sections and media used. | Custom coded and served from Cloudflare's edge. 90+ Google PageSpeed guaranteed on every page we build and host. |
| SEO control | SEO settings for page titles and descriptions. | Titles, URLs, headings, redirects and page structure set up and kept right by us, one clear search target per page. |
| Schema and structured data | Depends on what the builder generates; check the platform for custom markup options. | Organization, LocalBusiness per depot, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList, generated from the page content. |
| AEO and AI assistant readiness | Depends on how the pages are written. | Answer-first copy, FAQ blocks on every significant page, an llms.txt file and AI crawlers allowed. |
| Hosting and security | Hosting and SSL included in the plan. | Included: SSL, CDN, DDoS protection and unmetered bandwidth. No plugins to patch. |
| Maintenance burden | Low technically; content upkeep is yours. | Low. Weekly updates and 5 revisions a month are done for you in 2 to 5 working days. |
| Who does the work | You, using guided templates. | We do: the build, the updates, the articles, the hosting. Your desk approves and sends changes. |
| Content and articles | Blogging tools available; the writing is up to you. | 2 to 3 researched, cited articles a week, included. |
| Design quality | Guided templates built for speed of setup. | Designed around vehicle classes, depots and terms, rebuilt around your brand before launch. |
| Accessibility and compliance pages | Basic tools available; the content is yours to set up. | Privacy policy, terms, cookie consent that blocks tags until agreed, and an accessibility statement, included. |
| Cost model | Monthly or yearly subscription by plan; your time on top. | From $127 a month plus a $697 build fee after launch. Hosting and domain included. AI usage extra on Register and Dispatch. |
| Lock-in and ownership | The site is built on and hosted by the platform. | Domain and content are yours; content exported within 14 days if you leave. Code is licensed while the plan is active. |
Convenient when the domain is already there
Many fleet businesses registered their domain with GoDaddy years ago, so the builder is the obvious next click. It is genuinely quick: answer a few questions, pick a style, add your details. For a single yard with a phone number and a short vehicle list, that can be enough.
What changes when the site has to win work
Once the site is expected to bring in contract hire enquiries, it needs a page per vehicle class and depot, structured data, clear terms and a form that asks what your desk needs to quote. Guided templates are built to be quick, which is a different goal from building a documented, searchable record of your fleet.
When should a fleet business choose GoDaddy Website Builder instead?
Honestly, sometimes. The list on the left is where the alternative genuinely fits better; the list on the right is where a managed fleet site does.
GoDaddy Website Builder is the better fit when
- You need a basic online presence quickly and your domain is already at GoDaddy.
- Your fleet is small and your pages rarely change.
- You want the lowest monthly software cost and are happy to do the work.
A managed FleetWebStudio site wins when
- You want the site to bring in enquiries from search, not just exist.
- You need vehicle class and depot pages, structured data and CRM routing.
- You want someone else to keep it current every week.
- You want a 90+ PageSpeed guarantee and a ranking start window in writing.

Keep the domain, change the site
You do not need to move your domain away from GoDaddy to switch. We can point it at the new site, or transfer it into your own name at a registrar we manage if you prefer, with email records left intact. Old pages are redirected and the builder subscription can end once the new site is live.

What switching looked like for other fleets
Our old site listed rates from two years ago because nobody had time to touch it. Now we send the change and it is live that week, and the pages open straight away on a phone in the yard.

GoDaddy Website Builder vs FleetWebStudio: questions
Can we keep our domain at GoDaddy?
Yes. We point your existing domain at the new site and leave your email records untouched. Transferring it is optional.
Will our business email keep working?
Pointing the domain at a new website only changes the records for the site. We leave mail records as they are and check them during the switch.
Is the GoDaddy builder bad for SEO?
It includes basic SEO settings, and a simple site can rank for its own name. Ranking for vehicle class and location searches needs a deeper page structure, schema and ongoing content, which a managed plan includes.
Which costs less?
A builder subscription usually costs less per month because you do all the work. A managed plan starts at $127 a month and includes the build, hosting, a domain if you need one, updates and articles.
Can we add a page for each depot ourselves?
You can on a builder. On a managed plan you send the depot details and the page goes live within 2 to 5 working days, counted as one revision.
How long does it take to move?
7 days on Manifest, counted from the onboarding call. Your current site stays up until the new one is ready.
Do you offer the AI receptionist on the cheapest plan?
No. The AI receptionist, chat and messaging agents are part of the AI Engine on Register and Dispatch.
What if we just want a one-page site?
Then a builder may honestly be the better choice. A managed plan is built for operators who need many pages kept accurate.
